Caregivers are the family and friends who voluntarily take care of older persons in our community.
Educational Workshops
Regularly offered classes include:
Caregiver Corner Newsletter: Caregiver Corner is a caregiver focused newsletter that provides information, tips, and practical advice for people who are concerned about the health, safety, or well being of an older person.
Support Groups: We offer Caregiver Chat groups that are dedicated to supporting you as a caregiver of an older friend or relative.
Other support groups that could be helpful to caregivers are offered in various Broome County locations. Click here for a list of these support groups.
Caregiver Resource Center: Materials include DVDs, books, and a variety of free pamphlets about homecare, stress and other caregiver issues. To utilize the Resource Center, call the Information and Assistance Line at 607.778.2411
The Caregiver Services Program is supported by a grant from the U.S. Administration on Aging, New York State Office for Aging, and Broome County.
Contributions are accepted to help support this program. All contributions are confidential and voluntary and no one is denied services due to an inability or unwillingness to contribute.
